Yesterday I took a visit to DUMBO to check out what this Smorgasburg was all about. Usually located on the Williamsburg Waterfront on Saturdays was now extended to the abandoned Tobacco Warehouse located in DUMBO every Sunday until mid November. (Directly under the Brooklyn Bridge.) The location was totally awesome, the building is basically a brick shell that contained all the food related vendors. Not to mention being directly on the water gave me some great opportunities to catch some skyline photos.

I felt like the DUMBO location was slightly smaller than the Williamsburg one, which I have passed several time but never went in. However this being true there were still a ridiculous about of vendors there which made my choice of what to eat oh so difficult. I settled on a vendor that was selling asian inspired hotdogs. I chose the Vihn; a Banh Mi style hot dog topped with those toppings you would normally find in the Vietnamese  sandwich.

This was by far the best hotdog I have ever had. It was so fresh with the pickled carrots, raw jalapeños, and the fresh cilantro, yet as satisfying hotdogs are. My boyfriend got the Wangding; a hotdog topped with pork belly ( pork on pork what can’t be bad about that ) and and that too was out of this world.

Hands down I recommend checking Smorgasburg out, if not to get something to eat just to walk around. And if you are an adventurous foodie making a stop by ASIADOG is a complete necessity.

I found myself joining yet another social media site recently ( like we really need to be apart of all of them ) yet this one was different and I have fallen head over heals in love with it. Similar to Pintrest and Instagram in the sense that it is a picture based social media site. Best described by the site itself:

Fancy is part store, blog, magazine and wishlist. It’s a place to discover great stuff, to curate a collection of things you love, to get updates on your favorite brands and stores and to share your discoveries.

So similar to Pintrest and yet it is not, personally I find it much more appealing, it has a cleaner look and is much more organized. The ability to buy the majority of the goods on the site either by linking you to the seller or being able to buy it directly through the site is also another plus.

I mean how often do you come across voodoo doll tea bags and then have the ability to buy them at that moment. Want to sell something? Fancy will allow you to do that as well. Another cute feature of the site is that the more you fancy, and the more you interact the more deals you can unlock.

Check it out yourself! Click the yellow popsicle to get an invite to join!

There is nothing predictable about Manhattan, every block and turn brings forth a new experience, sometimes when I think I have seen everything, the city surprises me. This weekend when walking down 25th street I ran into a flee market, and decided to take a look around. Usually I cringe to the thought of super used junk but, when you look past the grime, and the occasional stumbling homeless drunk person what you find is actually pretty spectacular.

I could not imagine anyone wanting to buy these used rusty scissors but hey you know what they say, one mans trash is another mans treasure.

So no matter where i go these days colored denim has been popping up everywhere on the streets, at school, Tumblr, Pintrest, Twitter, you name it. But with so many retailers jumping on the colored jeans bandwagon it was hard to choose which ones I liked ( fit, color, material, quality ) and ultimately how much was I willing to spend on a pair of pants that were going to be put in storage come the fall. So here it is 5 different pairs of denim without killing your wallet.

1. American Eagle (44.50) – These out of all the other ones has the best color choices, including a dusty rose color, which compared to other retailers who sell it comes down to be the cheapest but still offering a great product. They have had these since spring started but ran out almost within the first few weeks, finally after a month they have restocked, so get them fast!

2. Tobi ($68.00  -47.00) – Oh how I love Tobi, the site is defiantly something to check out, these skinny jeans originally 68.00 are now on sale for 47.00 and come in a plethora of colors.

 3. Zara ( $49.90) – They only come in a few colors online, but if you are fortunate enough to get into a store check it out the last time I went in they had a whole array of pastels and they were cheeper.

4. Target ($22.99) – Who doesn’t like to find a good steal from Target and selling at $22.99 these jeans are defiantly one of them. I was skeptical about these being so cheep but when one of my friends highly recommended them saying they are just about the most comfortable pair of jeans she has ever worn, I had to check them out.

5. Alloy ( $29.90-34.90) – Im not so familiar with Alloy but they have an extremely detailed customer rating system which is great when you are shopping online. This particular pair only comes in 4 colors but they also offer other colored jeans as well.

Oh peplum how I just don’t like you very much, but like or dislike this has been seen everywhere from on the runway to the streets. Tops, Dresses, Skirts it seems like everyone is adding peplum, and for girls unlike me who have not been blessed with curves, this could work for you, in fact i encourage it.

So I have been meaning to post for about a week now but I have been swamped with midterms and assignments, which luckily will be over soon. I finally set up this WordPress blog to my Bloglovin, which you can access using the link below.

Also you can follow me on Pintrest which is slowly becoming one of my favorite social media sites.

And remember you can also follow me on Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr, which links are located on the right side of the page.

What is spring without pastels, and this spring is no different, these muted colors have popped up everywhere on and off the runway. Seen in collections from Ralph Lauren, Cloé, Phillip Lim, Mulberry, and much more, Spring 2012 seems to be much more saturated in these light colors than perhaps past seasons.

Peach, Lavender, and Soft Coral are just a few of these colors that are now accessible to the mass market, you can walk into any retail store these days and get ahold of something that has been manufactured in these popular hues. Going to FIT ( with perhaps a more daring crowd of individuals) I have seen girls putting all these colors together in one outfit, and why not? However if you are more hesitant about engulfing yourself in this seasons color trend, here are a few tips on how to jump on the bandwagon conservatively:

1. Accessorize: you don’t need to dress head to toe in these colors, accessories are the best way to incorporate them into your wardrobe; perhaps a pair of sunglasses, a bag, or jewelry.

2. Colored Jeans: this trend is another topic in its own, but matching a pair of pastel jeans with a simple top makes you look trendy but classy.

3. Shoes: Like accessories shoes is an easy transition, a colorful pair of flats or as the weather gets warmer, sandals, will brighten up whatever you are wearing.

4. Paint it on: I don’t quite know how to categorize this but if you really don’t want to commit to this trend then you can always paint your nails one of these colors, these days Essie makes just about any color out there, and are sold in just about any convenience or beauty store.
